Canon Point: Heading off to rat Mindfang out to the Grand Highblood
Setting: In a universe unlike ours, exists a planet dominated by a humanoid insect race, and while they carry features that bare resemblance to that of humans, this is where similarities end. Horns, rainbow blood, and grey skin isn’t the only differences these aliens hold. Even their romance is different than that of humans, instead of having one romantic interest, they have possibly 5, all segmented in four quadrants that govern the feelings for each. First, there is matespritship, which is symbolized by the red heart, it is govern by pity, not love. This is one of the concupiscent quadrants, which trolls have two of. While matespritship is definitely close to what humans experience, it is NOT the same, pity =/= love, no matter how much it may seem to replicate the sentiments. The next is the quadrant represented by the black spade, kismesissitude. This quadrant, which is the other concupiscent one, is govern by the feelings of hate. Through deep loathing and mating fondness, this quadrant becomes filled, but hating isn't the only driving force behind it, this romance is fueled by rivalry of the most bellicose nature. You are to be the misery in your kismesis' life, just as they are to be the one in yours. Next, we have moirallegiance, which is more like a soulmate, someone who understands you and will lovingly tolerate the shit out of you and guide you--however, this only works when there is a destructive or dangerous troll(a danger to themselves or others) and a more even-tempered troll to pacify them. It isn't something of BFFS4LYF, so much as a duty that each troll is dedicated to, the pacifier and the pacified, both trolls benefit from this sort of relationship and it is arguably the most important quadrant, since it has a great hand in damage control and plays a part in minimizing murderous rampages that are so easily set off by trolls since they are more hostile naturally. The last and final quadrant is auspistice, represented by the grey club. This one is basically when one troll mediates between two others who are waxing ashen for each other, hating, but not enough for a full blown kismesissitude. They need this auspistice, not only to keep from killing each other, but also because, while the feelings might not be there for a lasting kismesissitude, it could be a case of black infidelity, basically cheating on your kismesis.
If their romance isn't confusing enough, how they reproduce will just help. Trolls have drones that come around to collect genetic material produced between matesprits and kismesisses, collecting it in filial pails to bring back to the mothergrub. Who then mixes it all up in an incestuous slurry to birth a bunch of eggs that eventually hatch into grubs. These grubs are the troll equivalent to babies, human baby sized maggots(With human looking heads) with bodies of the same color as their blood. These grubs then climb a stalactite to pupate. Eventually hatching, emerging with the human-like body they keep through the rest of their lives. From here, the trolls go through the trials, which basically prepare them for the rough life they are going to be facing on the surface, they gain a lusus to protect and raise them, though a few sweeps into it, the lusus more so becomes a pet than an actual parent. Though, it helps instill a sense of responsibility and prepares the young troll for the dangers they'll inevitably face not only from the wildlife, but also from their own terrible society.
Their entire society is built around control, hate, fear, and violence. Death is common place for this fearsome race. Trolls are of a society built upon murder and bigotry. Importance and significance is based upon your place on the hemospectrum, their caste system built upon colors of blood, like a reverse rainbow, maroon at the bottom being the proletariat class, while purple is royalty, Tyrian however is that of the Empress. A rare blood color that is reserved only for her and the empress elects. Though, as if that wasn’t enough for them to discriminate with, there are also two types of trolls, land and sea dwellers, which have their own rivalry. In short, the planet is basically a hostile war zone even within itself.
Through conditioned bigotry, discrimination, and classism, control is guaranteed. However, to further control the masses, their Empress has quite a powerful asset on her hands, her lusus. It grants her the power to psychically kill off thousands in a mere second if she so felt the whim to. Though, killing a good percent of the population, while a heavy threat to hold over the masses, it hardly does well to deliver such a hardy blow to your own people, to decimate the population like so, which is where fear plays a huge part in the ruling of Alternia. That’s where the Indigo bloods come in, using a caste specific natural ability to play fears against the lower castes to terrify them into submitting to the will of the Empire.
This approach to control otherwise guarantees that there couldn’t be any revolts, though that isn’t to imply there hasn’t been any, there has. Two, to be exact, however, neither has exactly succeeded, but one could also argue that neither has completely failed. First was the Signless, a mutant troll that preached peace and acceptance, heresies against the Empire and what it stood for. While this was hardly a long standing revolt, it left the means for those of the lower castes to pick up where it left off. Granted, there was a quite the window of time in between revolts, a few hundred centuries, but the feeling, the drive, the importance of what the Signless left behind was hardly forgotten, despite how the Empress had tried to strike it from history. Though, the nature of the second revolution definitely made a greater impact on the species as a whole, it was hardly an easy battle, one that you could assume the Empress didn’t have much involvement in, until the end. Where, with the inevitable defeat of the renegades, she ordered that all adults leave planet, that only children remain. All castes were to pick up galactic conquest. With two revolts taken care of, the Empress was hardly going to stand for anyone else trying to over throw her Empire. So, with herself and the rest of the adult trolls in space, busy with conquest, it ensured total dominance, total control. It ensured Alternia’s fate as a military race, cruel and murderous. This is why violence and prejudice is encouraged, why horribleness isn’t shunned, but praised. The strong survive, the weak die. Survival of the fittest is troll mentality.
Trolls weren’t always like this, however, in fact, they were once a peaceful race. It wasn’t until twelve members of that peaceful race indulged in a game of universal consequence and lost, did they become the bellicose species they are. Through a deal set with an omnipotent being that goes by the name of Doc Scratch, they had their whole universe rewritten, their race conditioned to be the heartless murderers they are. This viciousness, this cruelty, this hatred and hostility were all instilled for preparation as part of that deal made with those twelve and Doc Scratch to ensure the replay would be that of success. As such, a whole race was formed and crafted with hands befitting a malevolent and vile sculptor and the mind of a tyrannical zealot.
Personality: Much like all seadwellers, Dualscar is a prideful and vicious royal. His descendant Eridan Ampora is like a mini version of himself, and just like Eridan, Dualscar can be described as an arrogant, selfish, elistist, though for him specifically, he’s above all a tyrannical bigot. However, the contrast between these two is the fact that Dualscar is the fine wine of these stellar descriptors, where as Eridan is more so wine just freshly squeezed from the grapes of metaphorical bigotry. This lousy metaphor aside, that is to say that while Eridan is a strapping young sea dweller of 6 sweeps, Dualscar has centuries of hate and oppression under his belt that would leave Eridan in his shadow for sweeps to come. Sea dwellers are feared among the land dwellers, and that is for good reason. They are vicious, and exponentially more violent than their land dwelling counter parts. They are the ruling class of Alternia, and in contrast to how most humans run things, they control everything with an iron fist, or flipper if you will. Dualscar upholds this visage of sea dweller tyranny like it’s an art and he’s troll Vincent Van Gogh. What with him being the great scourge of the seas, feared and respected by those who have enough sense or the downright survival instincts to do it.
One could even say Dualscar is cruel and heartless, which wouldn’t entirely be inaccurate, but that’s okay, because those are revered traits for any respected troll. The more cruel and bloodthirsty you are, the better the troll. Murderers are praised, a fact that most adult trolls have taken to heart, particularly ones who serve their coldhearted empress, and none other is more devoted to that than Dualscar himself. Or, he’d at least like one to think, because, as much as his loyalties lie with the Empire, his selfishness does take precedent, that much is for certain. The proof of this lies with his relationship with none other than Marquis Spinneret Mindfang. He took up a kismesissitude with her instead of actually apprehending her like someone of his status should, what with her being the pirate outlaw she was, a most wanted criminal by the empire. Instead, he facilitated a relationship, putting his desires above the Empire’s for his own selfish gain. Only relinquishing that relationship when it later didn’t go his way. Once it stopped being beneficial to him, he abandoned it, running to do what he should have done in the first place, which ironically ended in his untimely demise at the hands of those who should have been on his side.
Though, let us rewind a bit, discuss more about Dualscar and his standing. Being the high ranking troll he is, his blood being just below the Empress, he’s of royal standing meaning he’s highly privileged, very entitled, and one who holds high authority. Being an admiral of the armada, not only does he have respect and fear from land dwellers, he commands the same regard from other sea dwellers. Cruelty and blood thirstiness, the aforementioned traits encouraged by trolls, especially those of high positions, play a key part in his core personality. He’s vile and despicable by most standards, but don’t mistake the fact that killing doesn’t phase him as something savage or barbaric, he isn’t. As being royalty, he definitely conducts himself in a manner most civil, in most cases. He can, however, let his anger and emotions get the better of him when push comes to shove, but for the most part, he definitely holds himself with an intimidating calmness that carries an arrogance that’s impossible to miss. An air that shows that he knows he’s better than you, and he isn’t afraid to flaunt it. Because, everyone but the empress is below him, everyone is scum and filth, and are merely tools to be utilized and then later disposed of. Everyone is merely a means to an end to him, and once your worth has met its end, so soon will you.
However, despite how swell of a guy he may be, there are of course complications and problems that befall this fine specimen of a sea dweller. While he may be the exemplary of what a sea dweller should be, such a rotten personality has done well to leave the admiral forlorn and alone. His red affections towards Her Imperious Condescension are obvious and very much unrequited. He does little to hide this fact, seeing as his once kismesis even knew of it. Trolls often hide their more ruddy leanings, seeing as trolls are a race built around violence and hate, something of a softer nature could be seen as a weakness, especially when concerning your kismesis. Though, Dualscar later develops his own red feelings for Mindfang, which results in the termination of their relationship, partially because of disinterest from Mindfang, but also because of the assassination of Mindfang’s own flushed interest. Dualscar is a highly possessive troll, and one that gets what he wants when he wants it, and when those demands aren’t made, he reacts rather violently. Maybe not targeting the one he is particularly offended by, but those around, trying to ascertain control.
Control is a big part of troll life, the entire race is controlled by fear and oppression, and it’s of no surprise to anyone that a troll as high on the hemospectrum as Dualscar, would be a bit of a control freak. He wants things to go his way, no ifs ands or buts about it. He will use his standing, his position, and brute force to obtain what someone might deny him. While this obsession with power is definitely a conditioned trait from a society crafted through bloodshed and fear, there’s a number of other factors that could help facilitate this in Dualscar as well. He’s never had a successful redrom, left pining over what he can’t have and any attempts to obtain such things have failed, which to someone as successful, as respected, as feared and as important as Dualscar(At least he thinks he is), it’s quite a shot to the ego. A shot that festered and turned into insecurities, especially after repeated offenses. This being a weakness that isn’t fitting for a figure of power, or one of his caste at all. A weakness that’s defended and hidden through anger, viciousness, and an obsession for control. His inadequacy in romance feeds his lust for control over everything else. Trying to bury it entirely, because to be insecure is weak, to be inadequate is weak, and in a society where weakness isn’t tolerated, this is a dangerous thing to have, a dangerous thing to show, something entirely too costly. So he tries to bury it with a dramatic sense of pride and manipulation, it’s a lot easier to be alone if you make yourself believe it’s your intention all along, after all.
Abilities, Weaknesses, and Power Limitation Suggestions: While Dualscar is definitely a capable fighter by all means, that doesn't mean he doesn't have his weaknesses. He isn't the strongest of trolls physically and he's far from the most stable emotionally. His anger and emotions easily guide him into making rash decisions, though his experience and maturity can sometimes save him from this, but not always. Like all sea swellers, he has a strong immunity to psychic manipulations and attacks. This isn't to say that he is completely immune, though. He isn't the Empress after all, so while even some of the strongest of psychics may fail at affecting him, if one of impeccable capabilities came along, they might be able to break through that natural immunity, with some effort anyway.
However, his greatest aspect is most definitely his skill as a marksman. Utilizing his legendary Ahab's Crosshairs like an extension of himself. Though, with such an intensely powerful weapon, it will be toned down a notch or two during his stay. However, he isn't defenseless should his weapon be knocked from him. he's a skilled fighter, and a trained soldier, combat and bloodshed are his bread and butter. Though, as mentioned previously, he isn't the strongest troll, he could easily be over powered when it comes to brute strength, but he relies heavily on strategy and skill.
Inventory: Ahab's Crosshairs, armor/clothes, a small dagger(He was on ships and the like, more so used as a tool than an actual weapon.)
Appearance: This, but without the purple in his hair and scars are mirrored and his horns are behind his hair line.
Age: Really old, it’s never specified in canon, but I’d imagine a few hundred sweeps. (1 sweep = about 2 years)

Log Sample: That was it, it was at an end and he wasn’t sure if he should feel relieved, or if he should be dreading this. It was of his own accord that it’s ending, or was it really? He wasn’t sure anymore, all he knew was that she deserved what came, deserved to have that fuckin’ slave disposed of. She brought that much onto herself, she should have known what would happen for toying with him like that, for flaunting such lewdness with an infuriating laxity. No one crossed Orphaner Dualscar, and he had long since let her get away with it far too long. She’d make a fool of him no longer, an unworthy privilege for someone so low, someone who really could only ever amount to scum beneath his foot. He was a fool for thinking they’d ever last, that they should ever be a thing at all, but he’d be a fool no more.
With this turn of events, with this careless betrayal from her, he’d definitely show her the consequences she sauntered away from for far too long, just a slight step ahead of him, but little did she realize, it was him showing her mercy. Mercy that had no place in such a rivalry. Mercy that he had been much too magnanimous to offer a wretch like her.She had spit in his face for the last time, and as such, he was on his way to ensure her end. This was hardly a game anymore, or at the very least, it was a game that he was putting his hand down on. Once he reached The Grand Highblood, she’d be dealt with once and for all and he could move on. Forget such a wretched waste of time, such an embarrassment and such a shot to his pride as not only a sea dweller, but as a admiral. He could see it now, his name said with praise and fear that he, Orphaner Dualscar, had put an end to the infamous Marquis Spinneret Mindfang’s reign of mischief and games. That was all it was to her, a goddamn game, and he should have seen it. However, that mattered not anymore. Here he was, before the hive of one of the most intimidating trolls in the history of Alternia, his fear only reigning second to that of Her Imperious Condescension, regrettably.
Dualscar could hardly help his natural jealousy when it came to this clown, such a fucking joke.
Despite all his success, despite all of his military prowess and service to The Empress, he was easily forgotten for this unpredictable oaf. This freak who had the arrogance to carry that shade. It was sickening to think that there were dirtscrappers that close to his wonderful royal blood. Just as sickening to think that it’d come down to him relying on the Subjugglator like this, but once he’d reveal this information, once he knew of her location, knew all of her secrets, she’d no longer be his burden and he could finish, he could go on and worry about more important matters. Which was damn near anything considering how much of an insignificant thing she was to him now. He paused though, feeling that slight jolt of intimidation, or maybe he was just being cautious, yes, that was it. No one intimidated Dualscar, absolutely no one, especially not some sandlicking land dweller, especially not some hack of a clown who paraded around like he was something of worth, and so he persevered, pushing at those doors, crossing the threshold that would lead to the end of his struggles, the end of his grief and complications. Mindfang would know what it meant to cross the wrong troll, and Dualscar was honored to be her disciplinarian.

Wwell, this is hardly wwhere I wwas expecting to find myself. Howw curious, but evven more so, howw infuriating and dowwnright inconvvenient.
Wwhoevver brought me here, wwhoevver had the audacity to bring me to this unknowwn place against my wwill and wwithout my knowwledge, I commend you for such a task.
Howwevver, do not take my admiration for the feat as complacency. It isn’t.
